Chengdu, on the other hand, is a cultural melting pot, well-known for being the home of the giant pandas and influenced throughout its long history by Tibetan and Mongolian cultures. Finally, Shanghai, the “Paris of the East, New York of the West” became prosperous and the largest city in the Far East in the 1930s. This program will give you a taste of all three while connecting the ancient and modern history of China and the connection with the Han and minority cultures.
